Memory Bears made from loved ones clothing & items

Here is a recent Memory Bear that I custom made and shipped out to a customer. A bear that was made from a deceased husband’s clothes and other favorite items.

Notice the hat band with an Australian pin… I added it as a belt, which can easily be removed by the customer and didn’t damage the hat band.

The ring pocket is a new thing I added to this bear… I placed her husband’s wedding band in it, over the bear’s heart.

The patches on the bear’s feet came from favorite shirts, as well as the orange pocket and ears on the back side.

On the inside of the sweater, attached to the label, is the husband’s name from the dry cleaner….

I added several tags from the shirts to the bear as well…one is visible next to the leg emblem.

These types of little things add so much to the bear.

Quilts for Memories or Decor

Many of you have seen or received one of our amazing Memory Quilts, or Memory Bears, made with the clothing of a loved one. Since including these articles on our website with the rest of our memory saving photo albums and scrapbooks, our Quilting business has really thrived. We’ve sold several quilts just for people’s beds, or for comfort quilts for chronically ill people. So in an effort to try to keep all our pages in the same book, we have decided to add some photos of our past customer’s quilts in case you decide you’d like one of these one-of-a-kind precious heirlooms. As with our customized albums, our quilts can be customized as well…your choice of colors, fabrics and themes. So, here are a few of the quilts we have sold or gifted.

Quilt Classes

There is a growing interest in learning the dying art of quilting. We have been asked to teach a class on beginner’s quilting at our local community college. This will be such a fun event, and we’re really looking forward to working with members of the community to have fun and build a new skill. For those who have sewn clothing in the past, this will be entirely new… none of the same rules apply. There will be no age limit to our class so we’re expecting older people who have always wanted to learn, but also hoping for some younger people as well. The class will be limited to people out of school, so we may not get many teenagers, but that would be fun too. Our class project will be a simple wall hanging design made with a few different styles of quilting that the students can expand on to make a quilt on their own, and will be encouraged to bring those to class for help and to share with the other students. I will be adding photos when we begin our class to share the fun.

We have added more variety of fabrics and embroideries to our Pet album selections.

We now have 2 different horse prints (with many more available if interested) as well as a general “farm animals” print that is absolutely adorable!

We have plenty of cats and dogs now, some cute and funny, others more realistic.

We have a new paw prints fabric that can be used for a nice album, either cat or dog, with an added applique with the pet’s name and it can even have embroidery right on the fabric since it’s lighter in color and would be easily visible.
